Job Description

ACCC Insurance Company is currently hiring an Underwriting Development Trainer.

Position Summary:

The Underwriting Development Trainer is responsible for the identification, creation, and implementation of training needs within the Underwriting department. This is a professional position within the Underwriting department and is suited for career focused individuals with leadership qualities and ambitions interested in continuing a career path in the Underwriting department. We are seeking service minded professionals with the motivation and drive to progress within the organization and willingness to learn from the training provided on the job and through our Learning and Development department. We believe in support, training, and coaching to ensure an achievable and successful career.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify training and development needs of the Underwriting department
  • Design and create curriculum based on department needs
  • Produce training material for internal department training
  • Monitor and review the progress of trainees
  • Amend and revise trainings to adapt to changing environment
  • Assist supervisors, management, and coach to solve training problems
  • Conduct trainings as required to groups and individuals
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development Department
  • Remain current and informed of Underwriting process, protocol, system, and guideline changes
  • Coordinate and schedule training events for our Houston Underwriting office
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task, organize, take initiative, follow up independently and as a team with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional typing and computer skills, as well as technical knowledge of MS Office products and Windows
  • Uses knowledge and resources to make informed decisions
  • Willingness to actively participate in development trainings
  • Conduct or participate in observation of other company positions
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Listens and communicates effectively
  • Present a professional and helpful appearance

 

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • High School Graduate
  • Auto Insurance Underwriting experience preferred
  • Development training/coaching experience preferred
  • Property & Casualty License required (if not currently licensed, required licensing to be obtained within first 90 days)
  • Bilingual language skills (English and Spanish) preferred

  • Must be willing to submit to background checks including identity, criminal background, credit history, employment verifications and drug test.
