Core Responsibilities of the Project Manager include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Communicate, Plan, Document, Communicate, Organize, Facilitate, Schedule, Collaborate and did we mention Communicate and Document?
  • Ensure delivery of projects on time within budget and scope.
  • Develop comprehensive project schedules for clients and employees.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive Communication, Project, Risk Management, and other related artifacts to ensure the successful implementation and communication of multiple projects.
  • Manage internal resources, stakeholders, and vendors for flawless execution of assigned projects.
  • Create Project Charters to capture project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and obtaining approvals.
  • Working with the appropriate Product Teams to ensure new software or products are technically feasible.
  • Creating weekly status reports, participating and presenting in Monthly Governance and bi-weekly Executive Steering Committee Meetings.
  • Use appropriate verification and approval techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Work with the appropriate managers to ensure resource are available and allocated for project success.
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; and implementing change.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed to resolve conflicts.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management and mitigation to minimize project risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors through effective Vendor Management.

Job Requirements

To qualify, candidates must meet the following skill sets:

  • Six (6) to eight (8) years current experience as a Project Manager managing multiple projects in an Iterative/Waterfall environment.
  • Project Management Professional certification required.
  • Prior experience in the automobile insurance industry preferred.
  • Expertise with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, and Team Foundation Server, TFS).
  • Leadership skills in terms of prioritizing work, identifying dependencies and blockers to progress, monitoring progress and communicating project status and escalations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills combined with the ability to facilitate meetings and lead group discussions for navigating complex solutions.
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail, multi-tasking and prioritization across multiple commitments and time management.
  • Motivated self-starter that can work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment. Ability to adapt project scheduled to evolving platform.
  • Forecast requirements; prepare annual budgets; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiate corrective actions.
  • Advocate of change and work to implement change across all teams.
  • Maintain professional knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining PMP courses and certification, personal networks, participation in professional organizations.
