The Business Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following;

  • Communicate, Analyze, Document, Communicate, Organize, Facilitate, Schedule, Collaborate - and did we mention Communicate?
  • Interview development teams and key stakeholders, to help gather / clarify requirements and define product functionality using techniques like Business Processing Modeling and Gap Analysis.
  • Lead development teams through the full project lifecycle in a waterfall / iterative environment – this includes solution analysis, work breakdown process, dependency identification, project schedule, release coordination, and project transition to support.
  • Work with Business Systems to manage work backlog for the team while ensuring business and system requirements are met.
  • Assist the technical teams with Demos prior to or after product launches.
  • Produce timely and relevant documentation including User stories, Mockups, Decisions & Clarifications, User Guides, Process documents, Project status, Meeting notes etc.
  • Use different formats of documentation to fit the team’s needs (UML, Visio, PowerPoint, TFS, Word, Excel, whatever it takes).
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) in design and development of Help Guides and Tutorials related to the Claims, Policy, and Reporting applications.
  • Provide input for developing and maintaining social media presence.
  • Manage process documents using SharePoint.
  • Document and gather requirements for website creation.
  • Negotiate, persuade, influence as needed with the objective of delivering high quality products.

Job Requirements

To qualify, candidates must meet the following skill-sets:

  • Six (6) to eight (8) years current experience as a Business Analyst or Project Manager in an Iterative/Waterfall environment
  • Preferably some prior experience as a Process Engineer or Technical Writer.
  • Expertise with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project and Team Foundation Server (TFS)).
  • Experience with Visio or similar tools for creating mockups, process flow diagrams, and UML.
  • Strong Project Management skills in terms of prioritizing work, identifying dependencies and blockers to progress, monitoring progress, and communicating project status and escalations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills combined with the ability to facilitate meetings and lead group discussions for navigating complex solutions.
  • Good organizational skills including prioritization across multiple commitments and time management.
  • Motivated, self-starter that can work independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to find answers, maintain project schedules, and adapt to an evolving platform.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any related field.
